Vintage Cricket is proud to offer an exclusive tour to South America visiting 3 wonderful countries and playing cricket at some remarkable clubs and grounds reflecting cricket’s exclusive niche status in Argentina, Peru and Chile.

Arranged with the assistance of our regular suppliers and good friends, Sundance Tours of Buenos Aires, the tour over 3 weeks offers fantastic sight-seeing, great hospitality, excellent attractions and some exciting cricket all in the company of like-minded cricketers, their wives or partners and supporters.

The fully escorted tour is open to cricketers of all ages (over the age of 40), abilities, skills and experience plus wives, partners, supporters and umpires from anywhere in the cricketing world. The team is called Vintage Internationals committed to combining outstanding international cricket experiences with wonderful sightseeing opportunities in great destinations.

Itinerary

Day One:  Sunday 14th October 2012:
Team assembles upon arrival at Ezeiza International Airport (Buenos Aires) where we will be met by English speaking Sundance Spirit staff who will assist with luggage and a transfer to an awaiting touring coach.  We will be transferred to Aspen Suites Hotel for a four night stay including breakfast. Evening we will get together for a team dinner, briefing and a “get to know each other” session-catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.

Day Two: Monday 15th October:
This morning we will embark on a private touring coach, accompanied by a professional English speaking guide for a sight-seeing tour of historic Buenos Aires. There will be the opportunity for visits to all the major Plazas, (Plaza San Martin, Plaza Congreso, Plaza 25 de Mayo ) major civic buildings such as the famed Opera House, renowned monuments, fountains and the Recoleta Cemetery where past Presidents, Military Heroes and sporting figures rest, ironically surrounding the ever enduring ¨Evita¨Duarte Peron, who is lying in death in the family Duarte crypt.
Returning to the hotel mid-afternoon members are at leisure to enjoy some shopping or local bars and restaurants.

This evening at approximately 7.15 we will transfer to the La Rural Showground's where Opera Pampa is performed for a spectacular evening including pre-show fine Argentine wines and traditional empanadas followed by the spectacular outdoor extravaganza-a musical masterpiece, featuring 50 dancers and horsemen, stunning light effects,  unforgettable songs, spectacular equestrian riding displays and historical horse drawn carriages. Following the entertainment a traditional dinner `asado` is served under the grandstands and includes all manner of beef cuts, poultry, pork and lamb, cooked in the style of the Pampa. Following dinner we will be transferred back to the hotel.

Day Three: Tuesday 16th October:
Coach transfer to 1st cricket match in Buenos Aires v St Georges Invitational Cricket XI at the Quilmes Cricket Club. The match will be played on a turf pitch. Umpires, balls, lunch and an after-match function with beverages (soft drinks, beer & wine) and snacks will be provided by the host club followed by a transfer back to the hotel.

Day Four: Wednesday 17th October:
Coach transfer to 2nd cricket match vs North Masters XI at Pinazo Cricket grounds-an annex of Belgrano Cricket Club. The match will be played on an artificial pitch. Umpires, balls, lunch and an after-match function with beverages (soft drinks, beer and wine) and snacks will be provided by the host club followed by a transfer back to the hotel.

Day Five: Thursday 18th October:  
Mid-morning check out of the hotel after breakfast and transfer by coach to Aeroparque Airport and check in for a domestic flight to Iguazu Falls where we will be transferred to St George Hotel in Puerto Iguazu for an overnight stay with breakfast included.

Afternoon transfer by touring coach and accompanied by an English speaking guide, we cross the International border into Brazil and visit the huge free-flight aviary and reptile exhibition, Parque das Aves, then to the Foz do Iguazu National Park  to access the walking trails on this side of the river. At the conclusion of the Foz do Iguazu National Park visit, we will re-cross the International border into Argentina and return to our accommodation.

Day Six: Friday 19th October:
Following breakfast we will check out, take the coach to Iguazu Falls National Park and enjoy The Green Passport outdoor adventure including two river excursions, a jungle 4x4 excursion, a train ride in the People Mover out to the walkway to the viewing platform above the thunderous Devil`s Throat and 270 cataracts that make up Iguazu Falls.

At the conclusion of the outdoor adventures, transfer late afternoon to IGR Airport for the domestic flight to Buenos Aires and accommodation at Aspen Suites Hotel for a two night stay with breakfast included.

Day Seven: Saturday 20th October:
Morning transfer to our 3rd cricket match in Buenos Aires vs South Masters XI at Longchampes Cricket grounds where the game will be played on an artificial pitch. Umpires, cricket balls, lunch and after-match hospitality with beverages ( soft drinks, beer & wine) and snacks will be provided. Late afternoon transfer back to the city hotel.

At 8.00pm we will transfer to the outstanding Señor Tango dinner and show. Late evening transfer back to the hotel.

Day Eight: Sunday 21st October:
Check out of the hotel after an early breakfast and transfer to Ezeiza International Airport for the flight (approximately 4 and a half hours) to Lima, Peru. We will be met upon arrival by a local English speaking guide who will assist with baggage and a coach transfer to the Sonesta Posada Del Inca Miraflores Hotel with Breakfast included.

Day Nine: Monday 22nd October:
Morning departure for a coach tour of Lima historical highlights including visits to Plaza de Armas, Lima central city and main basilica, the famous Herrara Larco Museum and  the Museo de Oro & Weapons of the World.

Day Ten: Tuesday 23rd October:
Morning transfer to our 4th cricket match in Magdelana, Lima- details to follow with return transfer to our hotel following the afternoon fixture and post-match hospitality.

Day Eleven: Wednesday 24th October:
After breakfast we check out of the hotel and transfer to Lima Domestic Airport for a domestic flight to Cuzco, located high in the Los Andes Cordillera. Upon arrival at Cuzco we take a coach transfer down into the Sacred Valley and check in to Sonesta Posoda Del Inca Hotel for two nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day Twelve: Thursday 25th October:
Following breakfast we take a coach trip to the massive Inca ruins at Ollantaytambo and then onto the Pisac Markets, which have been conducted for the last 800 years on this same small plaza in the spiritual and historically traditional township of Pisac. Lunch is included at a local restaurant in Pisac.  

Day Thirteen: Friday 26th October:
After breakfast we check out of the hotel and transfer to Ollanta Station to take the First Class Vistadome train down the Urubamba River Valley to Aguas Calientes where we will board a smaller shuttle vehicle for the drive up to the entrance to Machu Picchu and a guided walking excursion inside the Sacred Citadel. Lunch is included at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge restaurant. Accommodation this evening will be at the Hotel El Mapi with dinner included.

Day Fourteen: Saturday 27th October:
Enjoy a very early breakfast (very early!) at the hotel and take a coach trip to Machu Picchu in time for sunrise and the opportunity to further enjoy the Sacred Citadel. Late morning we will transfer from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes and board the First Class Vistadome train to Poroy and from there transfer there to Cuzco city where our accommodation will be at Casa Andina San Blas on a Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day Fifteen: Sunday 28th October:  
Enjoy a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Cuzco city and Inca sites-Koricancha, Sun Temple, Sacsayhuaman and Puca Pucara. Afternoon is free to browse, shop or relax in Cuzco.

Day Sixteen: Monday 29th October:
 Early morning check out of the hotel and transfer to Cuzco airport for the short flight to Lima and transfer to an international flight to Santiago de Chile. Upon arrival in Santiago we will transfer to Four Points Hotel for a four night stay on a Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day Seventeen: Tuesday 30th October:
Morning transfer to our 5th cricket match in the Santiago area-full details to follow. Following the match and the local hospitality transfer back to accommodation.

Day Eighteen: Wednesday 31st October:  
Following breakfast transfer to our 6th cricket match, in the Santiago area-full details to follow. Following the match and the local hospitality transfer back to accommodation.

Day Nineteen: Thursday 01st November:  
Mid-morning depart for a day sightseeing excursion to the Pacific Ocean coastal  port of  Valparaiso and the resort of Viña del Mar. Late afternoon, on the return journey back to Santiago stop at the quality Chilean Bodega (vineyard) Indomita, for a wine tasting and look at a world renowned winery.

Day Twenty: Friday 02nd November:  
After breakfast, transfer to a local club for our 7th cricket match, in Santiago with full details to follow.  Following the match and the local hospitality transfer back to the hotel, where rooms have been kept until 7.30pm. We will check out of the hotel and transfer to Santiago International Airport for the LAN Chile flight home.

Turf cricket wickets a must

Unfortunately cannot always be guaranteed in some of the cricketing outposts. We are definitely requesting turf wickets and trust that miost games will be played on turf.
