Michael Perkins - Stratford-upon-Avon CC

The first winner for the lead in to the Stratford-upon-Avon Vintage
Cricket Carnival is our energetic and well-organised local Vintage
Cricket Chairman, Michael Perkins. A long time member of the
Stratford-upon-Avon Cricket Club as a player, administrator and umpire,
Michael was involved with committee support at the Brimingham Golden
Oldies Cricket Festival in 1994. A member of the MCC and the Forty
Club, Michael has made around 100 cricket tours.
In addition to a significant number of tours, our Chairman Michael
boasts 4,797 wickets in his 44 year career with Stratford-upon-Avon
Cricket Club-should be past 5,000 by the time the 4th World Vintage
Cricket Carnival commences in August 2008. A keen rugby referee and
founder member of Alcester Rugby Club, Michael is an enthusiastic
choral singer being a member of four choirs. An excellent Chairman and
a good cricketing man, Michael is a worthy winner of the Love of the
Game Award for this our 1st newsletter of 2007.
If you or your team have some one who you believe could be a worthy
winner of For the Love of the Game, just let us know and that person
will be honoured in true Vintage Cricket style.
